MD&M Trade Show: Booth Design & Video Content

With a high-profile trade show approaching, VitalPath sought a standout booth design to break through the traditionally blue-and-white event landscape.

Project Summary

VitalPath specializes in custom catheter and component design, offering strategic partnerships for med device OEMs from inception to high-volume production. With a recent brand update, they sought a standout booth design for MD&M West to increase visibility and engage their target audience in the crowded med tech space.

Fun Fact

Faced with a lack of high resolution product photography, we produced a ½ day catheter photo shoot in our studio to capture intricate product detail imagery that would work well in the booth and for other VitalPath applications.

Situation

VitalPath provides custom catheter and catheter component design and manufacturing for complex applications. VitalPath offer strategic partnership, from inception to high-volume production, with a customizable product development process to meet med device OEMs wherever they are in their project.

VitalPath had grown through acquisition, and had recently gone through a simple brand identity update. When we began working with VitalPath, they lacked a detailed brand guide and brand asset library to help fuel marketing efforts.

MD&M West, one of the largest and most influential B2B advanced manufacturing trade shows in the world, was a key upcoming industry event and opportunity to increase their visibility with their engineer audience within the med tech space. VitalPath wanted a booth that would stand out in a crowded, heavily blue or white-branded, event scene. Our client strived to pique interest with their booth graphics to attract attendees to stop to learn more and engage with the VitalPath team.

Approach

After interviewing the VitalPath engineering team, we learned about the team’s expertise in guiding customers through the catheter solution pathway with a flexible process.

Design

In order to visually represent the catheter solution pathway and also build excitement, the winning booth design concept from Bionic Giant used bold, bright colors and dynamic graphics to help create a sense of flexibility, depth and speed, all things related to the VitalPath production and product. 

The booth video was produced from the library of assets we captured during a 2-day shoot at the VitalPath Design Center. Simple motion graphics helped bring the 6-step process to life, illustrating that VitalPath can meet their customers wherever they are at in their design process.

VitalPath captured 84 leads from the show, consisting of 35 unique companies. Booth traffic, leads, and quality of leads were significantly higher than previous years. A week after the show, VitalPath had already received two purchase orders from customers who visited the booth.
