Double the Bunch: Two TV Spots for Honey Bunches of Oats
A Cereal Approach to Storytelling: Building Bunches & Delicious Details
We were asked to create a 15 second TV spot that highlights the variety of sweet flakes, abundance of crunchy granola bunches, and showcasing that Honey Bunches of Oats is everything in a bowl that consumers love.
From initial RFP response to delivery of completed TV spots, this project was completed in one month. Yep, we move fast.
For busy, goal-oriented adults who are always on the move, me-time isn’t just a luxury—it’s essential to performing at their best. We needed to showcase how HBO delivers a variety of flavors, textures, and wholesome goodness in every bite, making it the perfect balance of taste and nutrition. Using existing footage from the Post/HBO library, our challenge was to craft a compelling spot that communicated this value.

To bring the HBO story to life, we developed three creative directions for Post/HBO to consider, each placing a strong emphasis on the product. One concept leveraged existing footage, aligning with the client’s initial request, while the other two required a custom video shoot to fully capture the taste, texture, and nutritional appeal of HBO. After reviewing our proposals, the client saw the potential in our ideas and chose to move forward with producing two of the three concepts.
Delicious Details
If beauty is in the details, Honey Bunches of Oats is as stunning as it is sweet. We’re getting up close and personal with all the things that make this delicious cereal great. Highly detailed shots of crunchy oat clusters, golden flakes, and spoons digging into it all will make mouths water and boxes fly off the shelf.
Building Bunches
There’s a whole bunch that goes into Honey Bunches of Oats. And we’re proud of it all. Using an energetic, up-beat music track, we’ll bring in and use ever-changing geometric shapes to highlight all the tasteful qualities of the cereal — keeping them all on-screen at the same time as they appear and build. Think spoonful of clusters next to a variety of cereal boxes. Individual, detailed clusters next to a beautiful bowl of bunches. All on a colorful backdrop that supports and elevates the current brand color palette.
