KIND protects unaccompanied children who enter the US immigration system alone to ensure that no child appears in court without an attorney. The majority of the children KIND serves have fled severe violence in their home countries. These children come seeking safety, but find new challenges in the U.S.

KIND had recently launched a print campaign educating the public about the atrocities children were facing in South and Central America when attempting to migrate to the US. However, the campaign wasn’t gaining traction and engaging audiences. KIND approached Bionic Giant to bring new material into the initiative in order to inspire and inform their target audiences.
Using true stories written by children who experienced trauma during or resulting in immigration, Bionic Giant created five animated videos that visually told these stories. The animated style coupled with children’s own voices brought these heart-wrenching stories to life.
The final result was a series of moving picture books that each expose a separate issue in this ongoing conflict. By animating the stories and coupling them with children’s narration, the message had deeper engagement and traction than a print campaign alone. Ultimately, these videos help bring in new donors and advocates for children in crisis.
Bionic Giant was terrific to work with. The animated videos they created using their creative vision and clear talent brought our campaign to the next level. I cannot recommend them highly enough.- Megan McKenna, Senior Director of Communications and Community Engagement
This series of videos not only generated new interest and bring in donors for KIND, but the videos were also recognized with the following awards:
- Gold, 2019 Davey Awards
- Silver, 2019 W3 Awards
